Introduction to special issue: The study of populism in international relations

چکیده

The rise of nationalist populism, its challenge to representative democracy and the populist impact on liberal international order have emerged as one most significant phenomena in politics recent years. This special issue brings together a group researchers from wide range theoretical, disciplinary epistemological backgrounds, including political science, populism studies, foreign policy analysis critical security examine dimension practical security. Empirically conceptually, it presents audiences relations related disciplines with timely review scope research relations. Our specific aim is explore evaluate what challenges mobilisation anti-elitism anti-globalism both contemporary study politics, structure system key actors within it.
